Underground Utilities & Pipe Foreman Job Description
Bauer Infrastructure is seeking a dependable and experienced Underground Utilities & Pipe Foreman to lead field operations for our underground utility and pipe installation projects in Martell, NE, just 15 miles southwest of Lincoln. The ideal candidate brings strong hands‑on expertise in utility and pipe work, a sharp eye for quality, and the leadership skills needed to guide crews safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. A successful Foreman at Bauer oversees pipe installation, alignment, and site coordination while maintaining high standards of safety, productivity, and workmanship on every project.

Underground Utilities & Pipe Foreman Responsibilities:
  • Review project plans and specifications to plan construction methods and schedule work.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, and materials for each phase of construction.
  • Oversee daily field activities, directing crews and subcontractors to maintain workflow and prevent delays.
  • Procure materials, tools, and rental equipment according to project timelines.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and manage field employees and contractors.
  • Work with owners, engineers, inspectors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and improve performance.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure quality, adherence to specifications, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Investigate and report accidents, delays, or site issues; implement corrective actions.
  • Modify plans and direct crews during delays, weather impacts, or emergencies.
  • Communicate project details clearly with supervisors, subcontractors, and crew members.
  • Enforce company policies, safety rules, and regulatory requirements; document corrective measures.


Underground Utilities & Pipe Foreman Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership by guiding crews, coordinating work, and maintaining a productive, safety-focused job site.
  • Knowledge of trench safety and confined space procedures.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, grade sheets and project specifications.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical endurance and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in trenches for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to detect installation issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
